President Joe Biden, in one of his last deeds in the White House, announced a new wave of mercy decisions Friday, commuting the words of almost 2, 500 peaceful drug criminals.
The president’s pardon for his brother, Hunter Biden, was soon followed by another round of mercy, which included commuted sentences for 37 of the 40 prisoners facing the death penalty. Friday’s walk gives Biden more clemency and reduced words than any other U. S. leader.

In a statement, Joe Biden claimed that the violent offenders affected by Friday’s choice were” serving disproportionately much sentences , compared to the sentences they would obtain now under current laws, plan, and practice”.
” With this behavior, I have now issued more specific pardons and commutations than any leader in U. S. history”, the senator wrote. I’m proud of my clemency history, and I’ll keep looking over any further pardons and pardons.
Joe Biden had formerly hinted that he was considering issuing preventative clemency for former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, who helped guide the now-disbanded House Jan. 6 council, and different perceived political opponents of President-elect Donald Trump. Cheney and others who pleaded guilty to Trump’s part in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot have been suggested by a number of Trump supporters, including Trump himself.

The president, however, stated to investigators that he was not thinking about issuing a proactive pardon for himself. The House, which was led by Hunter Biden, closed the previous Congress without casting an impeachment voting, which had been conducting an investigation into his and Hunter Biden’s reported influence-peddling.
” Myself? Why if I forgive myself? No, I have no thought of pardoning myself. I didn’t accomplish something wrong”, Joe Biden said last Friday.
