One month before President-elect Donald Trump‘s inauguration on January 20, the FBI closed its Office of Diversity and Inclusion ( ODI).
In a statement to The New York Post, the FBI confirmed the closure on Thursday, stating,” In recent weeks, the FBI took steps to close the Office of Diversity and Inclusion ( ODI), effective by December 2024″. The organization did not offer a justification for the choice.

Trump claimed that fraud is a factor in the shutdown despite promising to do so during his presidency in the past. The President-elect demanded that “FBI protect and preserve all data, documents, and knowledge on the now closing DEI Office—Never should have been opened and, if it was, should include closed longer ago”.

Following the January 1 terrorist attack in New Orleans, the FBI has been under the watch of Republicans, with issues that the firm placed DEI before national security. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn. ) expressed her criticism, stating,” The FBI may be focused on getting thieves, not winning contribution trophies”.
In a letter to incoming FBI Director Christopher Wray, Blackburn claimed that the agency “has settled for lower quality candidates to fulfill La demands” and that Wray’s rely on “woke DEI efforts” has “enhanced our national security and the life of all Americans.”
Wray announced his resignation next month, successful upon Trump’s opening. The president-elect has nominated former White House regional security official Kash Patel to guide the FBI, pending Senate assurance.
Nicole Parker, a previous FBI special agent and Fox News source, expressed her opinions to Fox News Digital, stating:” I appreciate all kinds of variety. Make no mistake of that. What I don’t like is how the FBI consistently promotes social justice weaponization while keeping its major objectives in mind: protecting the American people and upholding the Constitution.
She cited FBI Director Christopher Wray’s claim that national security threats have reached extraordinary levels in response to his parliamentary testimony regarding “flashing crimson lights.” She emphasized that the FBI is unable to commit time and resources to organizations or social activities that undermine its main objective of protecting Americans.
” DE I is a dangerous distraction”, Parker stated. I have no problem celebrating anything that I would like because I respect my race, sex, or church. However, while on official Bureau time, that should be done on your own time and not with the taxpayers ‘ money.
She added that,” The FBI may become focused on being one in the fight against violence, no numerous groups and groups that divide.”
