Gov. Mike Braun notes 66 percent of Hoosiers don’t include university degree
Mike Braun, the governor of New Indiana, is the most recent to attempt to get rid of position jobs that require a college education.
Gov. The condition personnel department is directed by Braun, who took office earlier this year, to examine job descriptions and identify those that don’t really have a college diploma. He signed an executive order.
According to his order,” two-thirds of Hoosiers do not have a postgraduate diploma or higher.”
Additionally, according to the executive order, “skills-based hiring practices can handle labor shortages and provide more pathways for worker advancement by prioritizing abilities and experience over conventional tertiary education credentials.”

The most recent status to issue the necessity of a college education is Indiana. Republican support has been gaining for the idea of removing level demands from some government positions.
Only late, California Democratic Gov. For 30, 000 state positions, Gary Newsom eliminated the requirement for degrees.
The governor’s office stated in a press release that” this endeavor is part of the Newsom government’s work to upgrade state authorities and strengthen the hiring process by removing unneeded barriers to public service jobs.”
According to recent reports from The Center Square, Newsom intends to increase the number of positions that don’t require a university education.
Different states including Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Utah have made similar choices.
In early 2024, the governor of Philadelphia made a similar walk, as recently reported by The College Fix.
Democrat Mayor Cherelle Parker stated in January of last year that” we may continue to reduce college degrees where it is unnecessary” for some City of Philadelphia positions.
