According to a new report, the Biden-Harris management granted nearly 7, 000 exemptions to refugees and foreign nationals who, in the case of terrorism-related entry restrictions, would generally be ineligible for entrance into the United States in Fiscal Year 2024.
According to a report from the Department of Homeland Security ( DHS) regarding DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas ‘ authorization of exceptions for foreign nationals from terrorism-related inadmissibility grounds ( TRIG), the DHS secretary exempted 6, 848 foreign nationals in Fiscal Year 2024.
Foreign citizens who have supported, worked with, or been associated with criminal businesses are frequently denied entry to the United States and receiving immigration benefits, according to Fox News. However, if foreign nationals who meet certain criteria are free from the plan, the DHS secretary has the authority to do so.
According to the review of the DHS report obtained by Fox News, 653 of the exclusions were granted to refugees. Fox News reported that the Biden-Harris administration announced an exemption for Afghan evacuees who either provided “insignificant or specific limited materials help” or who worked as civil servants for criminal businesses following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.
According to the DHS document, 3, 134 exemptions were granted to individuals who “provided unfavorably or insignificantly minimal material help” to Tier I or Tier II criminal organizations, and 2, 946 exemptions were granted to individuals who “provided support to terrorist organizations under duress.”

The DHS report, according to Fox News, stated that “every applicant who sought exemptions was subject to a thorough and rigorous security vetting process.” According to the report,” The Secretary’s discretionary authority is only used on a case-by case basis only after careful review of all factors and after all security checks have cleared.”
The Biden-Harris administration’s unprecedented expansion of immigration and refugee admissions has been met with criticism from President-elect Donald Trump and other Republican leaders.
Michael Bars, a former deputy assistant secretary and senior communications adviser to the Trump administration, claimed that the Biden-Harris administration has “viciously targeted” American citizens rather than” catching actual terrorists and keeping them out of the country.”
They have actually been assisting potential threats by removing national security safeguards and allowing individuals to give varying degrees of material support to Islamic terrorist organizations, according to Bars. ” Islamic terrorism is not’ homegrown ‘—it’s been imported to the U. S. through our broken immigration system and open border. The Biden administration “has not only failed to fulfill its obligation to deal with this growing threat, but it has also precipitated it.”
