A firing at a French restaurant in North Hills, Raleigh, North Carolina, left one person dead and two others wounded, including the shooter, on Friday night, according to the Raleigh police office. Around 11 am, police officers responded to a record of an active shooter position in the 4300 wall of Circle at North Hills Street.
A gunman entered Coquette Brasserie and tragically shot a man before turning the weapon on himself. The gunman is now in critical state, while a witness, who was also struck by gunfire, sustained non-life-threatening injury.
Although it’s not clear if the gentlemen knew each other, authorities believe the shooting was the result of a possible disagreement. No one else was injured during the event, and all shots were fired inside the cafe.
Raleigh police captain Patterson said,” This was not a random event. This does not occur in North Hills on a daily basis. She added that it is possible that the people involved had a mutual understanding.
On social media platform X, North Carolina government Josh Stein shared information about the incident and advised people to avoid the area. I have spoken with the head of the Raleigh Police, and I have given her any assistance the state might have. Please stay away from the place and keep an eye on local law enforcement for more information for the time being.
Following the shooting, several officers were seen close to the store.
The circumstance is no longer regarded as having an effective shooter effect. However, transportation close to the store is severely restricted and is expected to continue for a few days. Residents and customers are being advised to avoid the place and find alternative routes.
In response to the firing, some Wake County schools were first placed on lockdown, but these shutdowns have since been lifted.
Authorities are not currently looking for any more survivors or suspects because the investigation is ongoing.
