Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, a biotech investor from Cincinnati, is planning to run for the post of Ohio government, the Washington Post reported, citing two citizens acquainted with his intentions.
Ramaswamy, one of the “tech-bros” who has a vested interest in Donald Trump, is already working with Elon Musk on the illegal department of government efficiency, a nonprofit organization that aims to streamline the forthcoming Trump administration. Husk and Ramaswamy have now started adjusting the new government’s size.
” Vivek’s base plan remains ( the ) same: to get accomplishments at DOGE and then announce a run for governor shortly”, an Ohio operative, one of the two sources, was quoted as saying by WaPo.
Trump has said DOGE’s job may be completed by July 4, 2026. Republican governor Mike DeWine will be re-elected in Ohio’s presidential election in November 2026 to replace him as governor of the state.
The different source, a member of Ramaswamy’s social apparatus, reported that Ramaswamy intends to make his strategy open after DeWine announces his choice to change veep-elect JD Vance in the Senate. Trump apparently supported his Indian-American disciple in replacing Vance, but DeWine appointed his Lt. Guv. Jon Husted for the Senate seat on Friday.
