In a phone call on Friday, US President-elect Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke about issues like TikTok, industry, and Taiwan, just weeks before Trump’s election, who has promised taxes that may exacerbate conflicts between the country’s two biggest markets.
According to Chinese state broadcaster Video, both officials were optimistic about the phone, with Trump calling it” a very good one” and Xi saying he and Trump both hoped for a good begin to US-China relationships. The pair’s initial telephone call came after Trump won the election in November.
” The visit was quite positive for both China and the United States.” It is my desire that we will address many issues up, and starting soon. We discussed balancing Trade, Fentanyl, TikTok, and many other content”, Trump wrote on his social media platform.
