Coral Gables authorities intercepted a U-Haul vehicle containing 31 migrants, mostly Foreign nationals, following reports of a conceivable violence.
According to the New York Post, a security guard for a neighborhood homeowners ‘ association observed what appeared to be an abduction involving a Toyota vehicle and a U-Haul truck around 9:35 a.m.
The guard promptly alerted a patrol officer, leading to a “be on the lookout” ( BOLO ) alert for the vehicles.
On South Le Jeune Road near Aurelia Avenue, officials properly located and stopped both cars.
Upon examination, the U-Haul vehicle was found to contain 16 Chinese women, 15 Foreign boys, one man from Cuba, and one woman from Ecuador.
The workers were reportedly loaded into a trailer and a tiny Toyota before being escorted into the United States by boat near the Snapper Creek Bridge.
Officials believe the woman who was allegedly raped was trying to smuggle things away from her pirates.
The workers were apprehended, and the suspected traffickers are under inspection.
We do believe these people were brought here by the ocean, according to Coral Gables Police Chief Edward James Hudak Jr. We’re assuming that they were approached on foot to the vehicle where they were loaded into around the southern end of Coral Gables and then dropped them off.
