Sheikh Hasina, the former prime minister of Bangladesh, has revealed details of an alleged assassination plot against her and her girl, Sheikh Rehana, following her ouster from strength. ” Rehana and I survived—just 20-25 days apart, we escaped death”, Hasina said in an audio message posted on the Bangladesh Awami League’s Facebook page.
The 76-year-old head was ousted from power and fled to India last year after a student-led rebellion led to the ouster of her state amid protests and conflicts that claimed over 600 life.

Hasina cited a planned plot to kill her in her reflection on the situation and cited the existence of numerous assassination attempts as divine intervention.
” I feel it is the will of Allah that I have survived—the August 21 rocket strike, the Kotalipara weapon tale, and now this new threat”, she said psychologically. ” Then, I wouldn’t be alive today”.

” I really feel that surviving the killings on August 21, or surviving the great weapon in Kotalipara, surviving on this occasion August 5, 2024, there must be a can of Allah, a side of Allah”, the deposed PM said, adding, “although I am suffering, I am without my state, without my home, everything has been burned”.
This is not the first death plot to target Hasina. On August 21, 2004, a rocket attack at a rally against terrorism in Dhaka resulted in the death of 24 people and the injury of over 500. Hasina barely escaped with minor injury. Also, in 2000, a 76kg weapon was discovered in Kotalipara, where she was scheduled to tackle a protest.
Hasina’s captivity has been marked by intensified investigation. The International Crimes Tribunal in Bangladesh has issued arrest warrants for her for alleged enforced kidnappings during her 15-year law, with prosecutors alleging that her government extorted more than 500 people. ” She had face justice for crimes against humanity”, stated Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to Bangladesh’s time government.

However, Dhaka has officially requested her abduction from India. Due to the lack of a clear timeframe in the abduction agreement between the two nations, she will still be fateless. The government has suggested putting international pressure on to confirm her demo.
Hasina, but, maintains her rebellion. ” Although I am without my land and my house, I believe Allah’s kindness has kept me alive for a cause”, she said sadly, reaffirming her endurance amidst growing problems.
In response to reports of India extending the visa for Hasina, the interim Bangladeshi government had earlier stated that visa issues are irrelevant once a passport is revoked.
The Bangladesh government had revoked the passports of 97 individuals, including Hasina, for alleged involvement in protests-related crimes. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, a spokesman for the foreign ministry, confirmed that diplomatic missions are informed of passport cancellations.
