Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals ( DACA ) was always unconstitutional. I knew it. You knew it. Liberals were aware of it. Obama knew it. But apparently, it always appeared to endure legal challenges. Also, lastly, a federal appeals court has ruled that this Obama-era system is, in fact, unconstitutional—a proper surprise for Trump simple days before he takes office.

More than half a million unauthorised newcomers were brought to the United States as children before President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday, when a federal appeals court declared the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals emigration policy unconstitutional.
A lower court decision was upheld by a panel of judges before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, which determined that a Biden presidency law codifying DACA was in violation of U.S. immigration laws. Federal authorities have determined that the original 2012 Obama administration letter, which was issued in violation of the law.
However, there’s a bit of a find. The panel of judges “maintained DACA open for latest recipients and closed for new applicants,” according to the article.
The decision is nonetheless long overdue. DACA has allowed hundreds of thousands of unlawful immigrants who came here improperly or overstayed their visa as minors to live and work around without fear of imprisonment for more than 12 years.  ,
As I mentioned above, perhaps Obama knew the system was outlawed.

It wasn’t the only day he said so, sometimes. However, when the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors ( DREAM ) Act failed to pass Congress, Obama did, in fact, wave his executive pen and just created the program via executive fiat.

The Supreme Court obstructed the Trump administration’s plan to end the programme on legal grounds in 2020, leaving it in purgatory.
How the incoming administration would view DACA was not immediately disclosed by the Trump change group. Trump and his advisers have pledged to start a comprehensive assault on both illegal and legal immigration, enacting stricter border controls, and reducing the number of immigrants and refugees who enter the country without lawful admission.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton called the 5th Circuit’s ruling” a win for Texas”.
” I look forward to working with President-elect Donald Trump to ensure that the rule of law is restored, and the illegal immigration issue is suddenly stopped”, Paxton said in a statement.
However, Greisa Martinez Rosas, the executive director of United We Dream, a progressive group that advocates on behalf of DACA participants, denounced the jury purchase as an “attack” on “immigrant fresh people”.

The new Trump administration does attempt to end DACA completely, but President Biden’s Justice Department has fought fervently in court to do so. The U.S. Supreme Court will likely be able to finally fix the lengthy legal dispute over DACA with Friday’s ruling.
