A now-former , Florida , police agent watching pornography , on his cellphone slammed into another car that had stopped for a school bus flashing its light.
According to an internal inspection report obtained by the Smoking Gun on Friday, 28-year-old , Lake County , Deputy Sheriff , Tristan Macomber , rear-ended a 63-year-old person’s Toyota Corolla, next claimed his brake malfunctioned.
When authorities discovered that , Macomber’s bodycam footage , showed him operating a smartphone in the events before the fall, the agent said he’d been texting with coworkers.
But after it was learned he was viewing “inappropriate images” rather than words information, he confessed to be looking at “boobs or whatnot”.
The November accident, which caused the officer’s vehicle to build, caused$ 10, 000 worth of injury to his crew vehicles and another$ 5, 000 of harm to the car he struck. No single appeared to have been injured.
While , facing dismissal, the three-year veteran , resigned from the force , after admitting to “lying by omission”, Florida stop WESH reported. Additionally, he was warned for using an electrical device improperly and operating a vehicle without a belt.
