Mayor of South Fulton, Georgia, Khalid Kamau, who was once known as Mayor Khalid but presently appears to be known as Mayor Kobi, likes to claim that he is” America’s first Black Lives Matter planner elected to public office.” It’s also a part of his official profile on the city’s website, complete with a hashtag, strange lower spelling, and somewhat prejudiced mission statement:

America’s first# BlackLivesMatter organizer elected to public office, Mayor khalid ( pronounced cuh-LEED ) is leading a generation of young activists from protests to politics. This self-proclaimed Elected Activist has been featured by CBS, The Nation, Jacobin, Governing Magazine and other federal advertising.  ,
With a population that is 92 percentage African-American, South Fulton, Georgia is now the blackest major city in America. muhammad is a goal to create America’s Blackest City Black. On Purpose, which means a town that is moving on purpose to serve as a laboratory for financial, cover, and restorative justice initiatives aimed at improving the lives of African Americans.
Of course, we all know by now that BLM officials are the griftiest of grifters, and if the complaints prove right, Kamau is following in their feet. But rather than funds, he’s doing it with public money. Specifically, he’s doing it with$ 26, 000 worth of public funds.
Members of the public in South Fulton, along with City Councilwoman Helen Willis, claim Kamau made what appears to be thousands of dollars in private payments between October and December 2024 using a city-issued cards. According to WSB-TV, he used the card for various Amazon payments, a$ 1, 300 drone, and travel costs, including over$ 5, 000 in flight reservations. Most importantly, Kamau spent 20 times in Ghana in December— what’s with all these degrees going to Ghana recently? — and it’s believed that he may have used tax money to pay the vacation.  ,

Some of the president’s journey has been documented on Instagram.  ,
Reshard Snellings, a resident of South Fulton and a WSB reporter, inquired as to whether taxpayers had contributed to this trip.” We shouldn’t be asked to leave without something so that our elected officials you travel all over the world,” Snellings said.  ,
That same writer inquired of Councilwoman Willis to inquire whether Kamau’s trip had anything to do with her position as governor, and she responded that she didn’t believe it. According to Willis,” We need more financial growth here and we don’t need to travel to Africa for the area to have a multi-business deal,” and the situation is now being looked into. Even after many South Fulton residents gathered at City Hall last week to demand answers, the governor has yet to make a common statement.  ,
Additionally, Willis added that” 112 records have not been reconciled or submitted,” and that city leaders have 72 time to explain any charges made with the cards to Fox 5 in Atlanta.  ,  ,
Both WSB and Fox 5 say they’ve reached out to the governor, who calls himself a” college-educated, community activist and Southern, Black, Christian Socialist”, about the allegations, but he hasn’t responded.  ,
This is not the first time Kamau has made the local ( or national ) news. The city council voted no-confidence against him in 2022 when he called the city’s well-respected police key” corrupt” for the way he handled a police officer who was accused of misconduct. After a buyer caught him wandering around his home and held him at gunpoint until police arrived, he was detained for trespass and crime in 2023.  ,

” Do you know who the f**k I am? I’m the governor, and I’ll wait for my authorities to get here and see what happens next”, he apparently said to the buyer.  ,
He afterwards told local press,” I just wanted to see the property. I do regret to the users. I thought it was abandoned”. He continued,” I hope that the light on our city will identify some of the injustices that have been occurring right now.”  ,
State what?  ,
Absorbed in 2017, South Fulton, which sits north of Atlanta, is a comparatively young city, but in its eight small years of existence, it has faced numerous challenges and conflicts at the hands of Kamau and people. It seems as if the people would do better to stand up to their crooked authority, which evidently sees them as a social study, and its communist laws, or it’s just going to get worse.  ,
