Gideon Saar, the head of Israeli foreign minister, warned on Sunday that if the Palestinian militant group Hamas were to continue to rule the Middle East, it may remain unpredictable.
” If ( Hamas ) will stay in power, the regional instability it causes might continue”, Saar said at a press conference.
Saar stated that Israel was determined to achieve all the objectives of its war against Hamas, including destroying its political and defense capabilities, as a ceasefire was declared in Gaza.
He added that if the international community desired a permanent peace, it must also include the establishment of Hamas as a military force and ruling force in Gaza.
” Potentially we can accomplish it by an agreement, but that will be negotiated in the future during the first phase”, Saar said.
