Pastor Lorenzo Sewell is the top pastor of 180 Church in Detroit, Michigan. On January 20, 2025, Pastor Sewell delivered one of the prayers at President Donald J. Trump’s opening. This time held private and historical value, coinciding with Martin Luther King Jr. Time. Sewell’s profound and casual prayer during the celebration left a lasting effect on Trump, leading to his invitation to participate in the opening. This marked the beginning of a closer partnership, with Sewell becoming a noticeable figure in Trump’s plan. He traveled heavily across the United States, offering starting prayers at activities, participating in Republican meetings, and speaking at the Republican National Convention in July 2024.
