Past President Barack Obama took occasion during President Donald Trump‘s opening to maintain his laughing with former President George W. Bush, which drew focus during a state funeral earlier this month.
Obama interjected Monday when a worker asked Bush, “Are you going to behave? ” Obama came up from behind Bush and jokingly said, “Nope, ” while shaking his head. He made the remarks while the two former president were on their approach to the Capitol Rotunda.
Bush attended the presidential inauguration with his family, former first lady Laura Bush. Former first lady Michelle Obama declined to go with her father. Former President Bill Clinton and former first lady Hillary Clinton likewise attended the opening.
George W. Bush has stayed in the people vision since leaving office in 2009 with his funny and polite movements, though he’s prevented from weighing in on most social conflicts.
While at his father’s death in 2018, he caught the public spotlight for passing chocolate to Michelle Obama. He did the same for Barack Obama at original Sen. John McCain’s death earlier that month.
Michelle Obama suggested that she and George W. Bush may be permanently linked as seatmates for public appearances.
“President Bush and I, we are forever seatmates because of process, and that ’s how we sit at all the official functions, ” Michelle Obama said. “ He’s my partner in crime at every major thing where all the ‘formers ’ gather. But we’re together all the day. ”
Michelle Obama declined to participate Trump’s next opening despite attending his first one in 2017.

Former Presidents Obama, Bush, and Clinton have had a more disturbed connection with Trump. George W. Bush declined to accept him despite being the only other existing Democrat former president.
None of the three attended Trump’s annual meal, which is usually attended by previous president.
