President Donald Trump spent his first whole day in the White House attempting to diffuse a weekslong debate over how to move his plan through Congress, having Democratic officials in two separate meetings in the Oval Office.

“We’ve been talking about it — finally, we’ll produce a breakthrough, ” Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV ), the No. 4 Senate Republican, told the Washington Examiner ahead of the appointment.
Politicians are also looking for greater clarity on the professional orders Trump may be signing in the coming weeks. His second centered mainly on illegal immigration and domestic energy production.
“ I think it ’s definitely just keeping the communication lines open with all of us there, but we know where we all are, ” Capito said of the White House visit.
