President Donald Trump issued clemency on Monday for over 1,500 people connected to the Capitol Hill rally on January 6, 2021, who had been prosecuted by previous President Joe Biden’s Justice Department.
As he was signing the professional order for the January 6 clemency, Trump was asked whether the January 6 activists may be receiving pardons or a whole pardon. In reaction, the 47th leader said, “Full forgive. ” Trump added that there are about six January 6 switching that his administration is conducting “further study ” on.
Addressing the January 6 activists imprisoned under the Biden-Harris presidency, Trump said, “We promise they come out tonight, simply. ”
Prior to signing the pardons at the White House, Trump addressed his followers at the Capital One Arena, promising to relieve the January 6 “hostages. ”
“Tonight I’m going to be signing on the J6 captives, clemency to get them out, ” Trump said. “I’m going to the Oval Office, and we’ll get signing clemency for a lot of persons. ”
“You see, take a look at what went on and look what happens in different parts of the country. In Portland, where they kill citizens, they destroy the capital, everything happens to them, ” Trump added. “ In Seattle, where they took over a large part of the town, nothing happened. Minneapolis, where they burned down the city, little happened. Effectively nothing happened. ”
Contrasting the approach left-wing activists have been treated with the way the January 6 activists were treated, Trump said, “All they want to do is go after the J6 victims. ” The senator pointed to one event where a 76-year-old mother was arrested for her alleged role in the smashing of the Capitol. Trump added, “We’re never going to put up with that nonsense again. ”

Following Trump’s large reprimand for the January 6 activists on Monday, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif. ) released a statement on X, previously Twitter, saying, “The President’s steps are an absurd affront to our justice system and the soldiers who suffered physical injuries and emotional stress as they protected the Capitol, the Congress and the Constitution. ”
Pelosi claimed it was “shameful” for Trump to make the January 6 clemency “one of his best interests. ” The original House speaker also claimed that Trump’s activity on the first day of his administration represented the “abandonment and betrayal” of the police officers who confronted the January 6 activists to “stop an attempt to subvert the peaceful transfer of power. ”
