The View co-host Sunny Hostin declared that President Donald Trump was a “DE I hire ” on Tuesday in reaction to the president announcing the end of diversity, equity and inclusion programs within the federal government.
“The one thing I did think about was the hypocrisy of having a man be inaugurated to be president on the same day as we commemorate MLK and that same man saying that he was going to get rid of diversity, equity, and inclusion, ” Hostin said.
“The humor of it! ” co-host Joy Behar chimed in.
“Because Martin Luther King never only wanted cultural justice, he wanted economic justice. And that is something people tend to lose, ” Hostin continued.
Hostin added by citing a offer from the civil rights head: “It’s all right to tell a person to raise himself by his own bootstraps, but it is cruel only to state to a bootless person that he ought to raise himself by his own bootstraps. ”
Hostin went on to smash the billionaire chairman for no ascending to the position based on “merit” but contended he did n’t make it.
“You’re talking about a man who did n’t became the president of the United States because of significance. He has n’t genuinely— he had no political knowledge either, ” Hostin said of the following term-president.
“ He had no business experience. He was given everything he has. He is a tradition use! ” she declared, adding, “ He is, if anything, a DEI hire: A ‘did n’t earn it ’ hire! ”
The View’s crowd applauded violently to Hostin’s attitudes.

On Monday, the president issued an executive order calling for the end of “illegal and immoral discrimination programs, going by the name ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion ’ ( DEI), into virtually all aspects of the Federal Government. ”
