Change – great change – is at hand for the FBI. Fox News stories:
Fox accounts:
“President Donald Trump has promised to usher in a new era in America’s top investigative unit — the Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI ) — with day one changes being implemented as key senior roles were reassigned.
The agency’s revamp began when former FBI Director Christopher Wray, who was nominated by Trump in his first presidency, announced last month that he would move down from his post. Time before Trump was sworn in, acting chairman Paul Abbate also stepped down.
The Associated Press reported, citing a man familiar with the matter, that the longstanding mind of the Justice Department’s office of foreign affairs, Bruce Swartz, was reassigned together with as many as 20 different employees.
On Monday, the White House announced Brian Driscoll as acting director of the FBI. Driscoll’s moment as acting producer will probably stop when Kashyap “Kash” Patel is confirmed as the FBI’s future producer by the U. S. Senate.
Throughout former President Biden’s term, the FBI was entangled in repeated scandals, prompting President Trump to promise to root out corruption in the FBI and the Department of Justice ( DOJ).
Former FBI agent and Fox News source Nicole Parker told Fox News Digital that Abbate’s pension was a “good plan. ”
“ He had to have known that his days were likely very much numbered, ” she said. “It’s been widely publicized and also known that Paul Abbate was involved in pushing the assault at Mar-a-Lago. Moreover, he was really involved in pushing the Jan. 6 criminal circumstances that were worked thoroughly at the FBI. ”
“ I imagine that he knew, rather than being removed upon Trump’s appearance, that it might be best in his attention to just walk on. And I think that perhaps was a good idea on his piece, ” she said.
On day one, President Trump signed a document titled “Restoring Accountability for Career Senior Managers. ” He asserted that federal workers are able to be fired.
“ I came from the exclusive market before the FBI, and I noticed such a comparison. The private business, if you’re no doing your work, of course you’re going to get fired. But when you come to the federal government, there was almost this mood of, you know, we’re untouchable, ” Parker said.
“And I really believe that those times are over. You are working for the American citizens. It is their tax money that need to be put to good usage. And if you’re no doing your work, you really should be removed, ” she said. “ I do think that there will be individuals who may not be on board with Trump’s ideas, and they’ll chose to move ahead on their own. ”
