ChatGPT manufacturer OpenaAI’s CEO Sam Altman on Thursday confessed his” changed view” towards Us President Donald Trump, claiming that he’s been good for the region.
In a blog on X, Altman shared his views supoorting Trump. ” Watching @potus more thoroughly recently has truly changed my perspective on him ( I wish I had done more of my own wondering and definitely fell in the official trap),” he said.
More confessing that there might be disputes between him and Trump, he also praised Trump. He added to his speech,” I’m not going to concur with him on everyone, but I think he may be amazing for the nation in many ways! “
This comes as Trump announced a$ 500 billion project towards building AI infrastructure, called Stargate, with SoftBank, Oracle, and OpenAI.
Trump and Altman apparently got in touch even before the opening service. Trump engaged in an extensive debate with OpenAI’s deputy professional Sam Altman regarding synthetic intelligence development and its proper value for the United States, before the formal swearing-in, according to CNBC statement.
As, the OpenAI CEO cozies up to Trump, it presents an interesting position as Altman is officially feuding with key Democratic and Trump secretary Elon Musk over the Stargate job.
The Elon Musk-Sam Altman conflict
The rivalry between Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has been ongoing for decades, mainly stemming from their conflicting views on the path of OpenAI. Musk, an early investor and ex-board part of OpenAI, has expressed disappointment over the firm ’s move from being a volunteer research company to a more profit-driven object. He has accused OpenAI of betraying its original mission and even filed a lawsuit in 2023 to stop OpenAI from fully transitioning into a for-profit business.
The clash recently intensified with the announcement of the Stargate AI infrastructure project, which was touted by President Trump as a major investment in the country ’s AI future. Musk questioned the financial backing of the project, particularly casting doubt on SoftBank’s investment, while Altman defended the initiative, stating that Musk’s claims were wrong.
After distancing himself from OpenAI, Musk has since launched his own AI company, xAI, which he claims faces unfair competition from OpenAI and its partner Microsoft.
