DeSantis warns about ‘hazardous’ fallout if lawmakers bail on special session

Gov. Republican Senator Ron DeSantis (R-FL ) warned Florida Republicans that if they don’t quickly align with his immigration agenda, they could face a pricey political blow. &nbsp,

After he announced a specific program to support the new Trump government’s “agenda of enforcing immigration law,” DeSantis faced opposition from Democratic leaders in both state legislative chambers earlier this month.

DeSantis disclosed to the legislators that they were reneging on battle promises when asked this week about Republican state House Speaker Daniel Perez and Republican Senate President Ben Albritton’s decision to designate the special treatment as “premature.” He suggested that if they failed to follow the governor’s instructions to help President Donald Trump enact a number of executive purchases overhauling the Biden administration’s immigration policy, they and other anxious GOP members might confront negative consequences from unhappy voters. &nbsp,

” Picture having to explain to a Democratic voting if you’re a part of the Florida government,’ Oh, you don’t want to assist with this?’ That’s not how we can procrastinate and pursue it weeks in the future. No one will recognize that, DeSantis said in a Fox News interview on Wednesday. &nbsp,

The government responded to the governor’s statement that the particular session “really shouldn’t be much of a problem in terms of the back and forth with the government because all these individuals ran saying they were opposed to Biden’s policies.”

” They all ran in support of Donald Trump in the 2024 vote”, DeSantis said during a news conference in Jacksonville. ” So it didn’t, like, we’re calling them back to ask them to do something that they haven’t already pledged to do. … I think people may come in and vote their morality on it, but certainly, we want this to be open in a way that’s responsible for citizens”.

Resisting a particular period, the government added on Thursday, had “be very, very harmful socially, I think, for these people to do”.

DeSantis first mandated the particular session be held on January 13. &nbsp,

” In the weeks leading up to his opening, I spoke with the senator several times. We were aware of these professional orders being issued, so I called the special session to begin so that we could react to them,” he said.

However, his GOP associates blasted DeSantis’s “fragments of tips” for the parliamentary program.

According to Albritton and Perez,” He did not release any true act language or perhaps valuable information for legislators and our constituents to consider.” We are prepared to work when we receive certain instructions that might necessitate our state’s congressional action in order to support President Trump’s attempts.

    DeSantis shot again. &nbsp,

” I’m not really going to wait six weeks for something to finally stick”, he said on Thursday. ” We’ve been waiting four years to be able to have a partner in Washington, D. C., on this issue. We have a sense of necessity. We’ve got to get the job done. No more dragging your feet” .&nbsp,

While the Florida government is a strong supporter of Trump’s administrative actions on the frontier, he criticized the H-1B card program, which the senator supports, this year.

” Actually, the H-1B, even though it’s a legal system, they want low workers, too”, DeSantis said in Jacksonville. They employ foreign workers, station the stranger, and then fire the American and let the tourist work for a lower income. Yeah, I don’t like that”.
