Donald Trump made it known that he intended to select an Idaho tenant for the second-in-command of the United States Air Force.
” I am pleased to announce that Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Lohmeier will be the next United States Under Secretary of the Air Force”, Trump wrote on , cultural media , Friday.
As secretary, Lohmeier would be the No. 2-ranked human and the lieutenant to Trump’s Air Force Secretary nomination, Troy Meink.
Lohmeier joined the Air Force in 2006 and became an instructor aircraft after graduating from the Air Force Academy, according to a biography on Congress ‘ , website.  , He transferred to the Space Force in October 2020 and immediately after took control of the 11th Space Warning Squadron, which provides weapon caution and checking worldwide, according to the , Air Force Times.
The regiment is located at Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora, Colorado, just outside of Denver.
Lohmeier ‘s , Facebook , page says he lives in Boise, though he is originally from Tucson, Arizona. His , website , says he “lives with his wife and children in Idaho”.
He initially gained , regional attention , in 2021 after self-publishing a guide purporting that Socialist philosophy had become popular within the United States army. The book even criticized says of , bright power within the defense,  , thoughts about systemic racism, the Black Lives Matter movement and diversity efforts.
Shortly after, Lohmeier was removed from his Space Force command position for remarks made while promoting the publication on traditional podcasts.
” This decision was based on public remarks made by Lt. Col. Lohmeier in a new podcast”, a Space Force director told , Martial .com. Lt. Gen. Whiting has launched a Command Directed Investigation to determine whether these responses constitute political political action.
Lohmeier’s investigation was started by the Air Force Office of Inspector General, but Lohmeier’s investigation was dropped after he deliberately left engaged work, according to The Air Force Times and Lohmeier’s site.
It would appear that Lohmeier’s social philosophy is precisely what earned him Trump’s election. ” Matthew may work with the GREAT Secretary of Defense Nominee, Pete Hegseth, to stop the devastating’ woke’ plans that have destroyed our Martial, and make our Country STRONG AGAIN”.
In a social media post, the Idahoan thanked Trump for his “very much looking forward to continuing his assistance to our great men and women in uniform.”
The Senate will need to review Lohmeier’s election.
