As Washington considers providing monetary assistance to California as it battles fires around Los Angeles, President Donald Trump named voting ID and liquid changes as the two compromises he is seeking from the condition.
Before and after his 2020 election loss, Trump has consistently made baseless claims of widespread voting fraud in California.
He added after a lecture in Fletcher, North Carolina, that he would not establish similar circumstances on the Tar Heel status for federal funding.
” We’re going to do a lot for North Carolina. They’ve been quite slower. I don’t understand why it’s been so negative”, he said. ” This has been very slow, and we’re going to make up for lost time,” says one woman,” I don’t know if that’s because they lost the state.”
After reviewing the damage that Hurricane Helene caused in western North Carolina, Trump may journey to Los Angeles and the Pacific Palisades afterwards on Friday for a trip and to meet with people who have been affected by the flames.

Trump has amplified criticisms that the Democrat administration’s response to the normal catastrophe against former state leaders Joe Biden and Newsom has caused disparities in how water is distributed throughout the state.
” I don’t think we should give California anyone until they let the water run over”, Trump told , Fox News , on Wednesday evening during his first Oval Office meeting.
Trump reiterated his position during a press conference after making an appearance in the Roosevelt Room on his first full time in business.

” Los Angeles has a lot of fluids,” he says. All they have to do is change the valve”, Trump said. ” They wouldn’t do it because, socially, they didn’t think it was good. I think it’s great socially. I think they’re dying socially. What they’ve done, they’ve destroyed the city”.
Trump has also proposed pairing an increase in the national debt ceiling with funds for California’s restoration efforts as Republicans try to pass a financing costs with a slender majority in the , House , and , Senate.
