President Donald Trump is making his first trip to California‘s light devastation since taking the oath of office, and he is being picky about who will follow him.
Trump will explore Los Angeles’ fire injury on Friday after returning from North Carolina earlier that day. Numerous local officials will be present for his visit to the Golden State, but the leader won’t see any important people.
Gov. The government was never invited to Trump’s planned visit to the Pacific Palisades area and emergency presentation, according to Politico, but Gavin Newsom (D-CA ), a frequent critique of Trump, invited the president to attend the destruction caused by fire in Los Angeles in recent months.
When Air Force One lands, Newsom has promised to greet Trump on the tarmac at Los Angeles International Airport.
Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA ) stated on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Friday that neither of California’s senators will be present for the presidential visit because votes are scheduled for Friday in the upper chamber of Congress and are expected to last through the weekend.
” I’m thankful that he’s going”, Schiff said. ” A number of us invited him to come to the position, and he reciprocated, inviting us to meet him to go to these fire places. Admittedly, Sen. Padilla and I have vote now in the Senate, so we aren’t able to get. But I’m happy he’s going”.
Trump told reporters before leaving the White House that he physically “didn’t ask him,” allegedly never knowing that Schiff had been invited to the presentation.
” I don’t understand. When Trump was questioned if Schiff would accompany him, Trump responded,” I actually don’t.” ” You know, if he’s going to get it, it would be cheaper, but I didn’t ask him. Something did”.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, Forest Service Chief Randy Moore, eight Golden State legislators, and other expected guests are among the speakers for Trump’s visit to the light disaster in California.
Republicans and Democrats harshly criticized Bass for being internationally when the flames started to spread. The following morning, she returned to Los Angeles from Ghana, where she claimed to have been in” regular call” with local authorities.
She has also had concerns about the state’s budget cuts, especially the Los Angeles Fire Department’s strong reductions in June 2024.

Before approving support to help the state recover from the fatal fire, the leader stated prior to Trump’s visit that he wanted voting Card laws and changes to the water systems in California.
” I want to see two things in Los Angeles: voter ID so that the people have a chance to vote, and I want to see the ocean been released and come down into Los Angeles and throughout the state”, Trump told reporters , prior Friday. ” I will be the most successful leader California has ever seen after that,” he said.
