Ukraine alleges that Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, is trying to sway recently elected US President Donald Trump without the support of Ukraine or Europe, and that negotiations will fail.
” He ( Putin ) wants to decide Europe’s fate without Europe and he seeks to talk about Ukraine without Ukraine”, stated Andriy Yermak, who heads the Presidential Office in Kyiv, cautioning about Russia’s efforts to establish direct negotiations with the United States regarding the conflict they initiated, Reuters reported.
Thereafter, at a security chiefs ‘ presentation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy cautioned about” Putin’s eagerness to continue the war and control world leaders”.
Zelenskyy stated in his regular evening social media address that “he wants to control the President of the United States of America’s desire to achieve peace,” while adding that” no Russian manipulation will achieve any longer.”
Putin’ willing’ for discussions
Following Putin’s statement on Friday that he and Trump would like to explore ending the Ukrainian war, Kyiv issued these claims.
” It is probably better for us to meet and, based on today’s experiences, talk quietly about all regions that are of interest to both the US and Russia”, he stated on Russian state television, adding:” We have always said, and I want to emphasize this once again, that we are prepared for these discussions on Russian issues”.
Trump’s re-election plan pledged to handle the Russian fight within 24 hours of his White House return, citing his good relationship with Putin.
Soon after his opening on Monday, Trump expressed courage to speak with his Russian counterpart, but by Wednesday, he threatened Russia with more “taxes, tariffs and sanctions” if Putin failed to end his “ridiculous battle” immediately.
Putin backed Trump’s unfounded claim that he would face Joe Biden in the 2020 US national poll.
Describing Trump as” intelligent” and “pragmatic”, he stated:” I cannot but agree with him that if he had been president – if his defeat hadn’t been stolen in 2020— then maybe there would not have been the issue in Ukraine that emerged in 2022″.
