Vivek Ramaswamy refuted allegations that he had allegedly left a National File discussion after making remarks about “lazy Americans.” According to an article published by National File under the patron of Patrick Howley, Ramaswamy had assured them that his comments on the subject were connected to his exit, reportedly stating “obviously.”
However, Ramaswamy refuted these claims on X ( formerly Twitter ), directly addressing the supposed interviewer:
” Dude, I have no idea who you are, not got a word from you, and would never comment if I did”.
Reacting to another blog, Ramaswamy wrote:” Sits. Never spoke to these morons”.
Ramaswamy’s message, which many believed had seen his exit from DOGE, sparked a heated debate within the MAGA activity.
His criticism of the US was attributed to the country’s cultural emphasis on stupidity over greatness, which he attributed to the 1990s. He claimed that this complacency, rather than an innate IQ distance, was a major factor in top tech firms ‘ use of foreign-born and first-generation technicians instead of native Americans.
Ramaswamy cited examples from 90s tv and political trends to illustrate how US culture prioritized social conformity over academic success. He noted that expat families, who frequently placed greater emphasis on academic excellence, produced many successful STEM experts. By contrast, he said, British society celebrated characters of “normalcy”, such as homecoming kings and sports, over valedictorians and mathematics champions.
Calling for a social update, Ramaswamy proposed shifting target towards intellectual pursuits, such as research events, and away from leisure activities like watching shows or socialising endlessly. Without a change, the US ran the risk of losing its aggressive edge to nations like China, he warned. Seeing this as a possible” Sputnik time”, he urged a renewed determination to hard labor, academic achievement, and “nerdiness”.

His provocative support for high-skilled emigration changes, combined with his broader social critique, apparently deepened divisions within the MAGA motion. His ideas were rejected by some Democratic leaders because they threatened National jobs.
In the midst of the controversy, there was growing rumors that Ramaswamy had left his position at DOGE as a result. Despite the criticism, he remained cheerful, believing that the US could rekindle its economical spirit by placing excellence before mediocrity, a process he characterized as necessary for success in a globalized world.
