153 prisoners were released on Saturday by Yemen’s Houthis with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross ( ICRC ). The ICRC claimed the prisoners had been given normal visits by the organization in Sanaa, the country’s capital, but the names of the prisoners were not made public. They were released for humanitarian reasons, according to the Houthis ‘ Committee for Prisoners ‘ Affairs in a press conference, which included older people and the wounded. The Red Cross has assisted in the management of another prisoner produces, including one in which 800 prisoners were exchanged in 2023 and 800 more were released in 2024. The war in Yemen has killed more than 150, 000 people, including soldiers and civilians, and created one of the country’s worst humanitarian catastrophe, killing tens of thousands more.
