World Health Organization ( WHO ) director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced on Sunday that around 70 people had died in an attack on the only functioning hospital in the beleaguered city of El Fasher, Sudan.
” The awful strike on Saudi Hospital in El Fasher, Sudan, led to 19 wounds and 70 fatalities among people and companions”, he wrote in a blog on X.
” At the time of the invasion, the doctor was packed with people receiving care”, he added.
Ghebreyesus became the first international authority to verify the victim images, despite local authorities in the capital of North Darfur’s money reporting superior numbers on Saturday.
Local authorities attributed the attack’s offenders to the Rapid Support Force insurgents, but the statement from the attackers was unexplained. Despite their latest threats to people around El Fasher, the RSF has never responded to these charges.
