,” I was only informed that two relocation flights from the United States, with a large number of Illegal Criminals, were never allowed to land in Colombia. Gustavo Petro, Colombia’s socialist president, who is already extremely unpopular among his people, gave this order, Trump wrote in a blog on Truth Social Sunday evening.
Trump continued,” I have directed my Administration to instantly take the following immediate and significant retaliatory measures. Petro’s neglect of these airlines has jeopardized the National Security and Public Safety of the United States.”
The measures included a 25 % emergency tariff on all products entering the country, which will rise to 50 % in a week. Trump also announced a travel ban and instant card expulsions for Colombian government representatives, as well as visa restrictions on their party individuals, households, and supporters. Also, he ordered enhanced checks by U. S. Customs and Border Protection of Brazilian citizens and goods, citing national security issues. The full implementation of IEEPA Treasury, banks, and financial sanctions was likewise mandated.
” These steps are just the beginning”, Trump added. We will not let the Brazilian government to violate its constitutional responsibilities in regards to the detention and release of the criminals they forced into the United States!

Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated in a statement that” President Trump has made it clear that America will no longer be lied to nor taken advantage of.” Every country has a duty to repent of its citizens who are present in the United States in a serious and prompt manner. President Petro of Colombia had authorized flights and obtained all necessary permits, but he later revoked them when the planes were in flight. As demonstrated by today’s actions, we are unwavering in our commitment to end illegal immigration and bolster America’s border security”.
