President Donald Trump on board Air Force One stated on Saturday that he wanted to see Jordan, Egypt, and other Muslim countries increase the number of Palestinian refugees they are accepting from the Gaza Strip, probably allowing sufficient people to” only fresh out” the war-torn region to create a virtual clear stone.
During a 20-minute question-and-answer conference with reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump even said he has ended his counterpart’s keep on sending 2, 000-pound weapons to Israel. That lowers a bar to Israeli forces ‘ civilian deaths from the Gaza conflict, which has been put on hold due to a weak peace.
” We released them today”, Trump said of the weapons. ” They’ve been waiting for them for a long time”. Asked why he lifted the ban on those weapons, Trump responded,” Because they bought them”.
In a move that was opposed by then-President Biden, who halted the supply of big bombs in May as part of an effort to stop Israel from starting a full assault on Rafah, in southern Gaza. Israel did take control of the city a month after, but the majority of the 1 million residents who had been residing or staying in Rafah had already fled.
Trump has firmly supported Israel throughout his social job. Trump stated that he would speak with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi on Sunday regarding his larger perception for Gaza. He stated before that day with King Abdullah II of Jordan.
” I’d including Egypt to get people”, Trump said. “You’re talking about perhaps a million and a half people, and we just clear out that entire thing and state,’ You know, it’s over.'”
Trump claimed he had praised Jordan for welcoming Palestinian refugees and that he had apologised to the king for saying,” I’d like for you to take on more, because I’m looking at the entire Gaza Strip best today, and it’s a mess. It’s a true clutter”.
A so dramatic movement of people would be in direct conflict with Israeli personality and strong ties to Gaza. Still, Trump said the part of the world that covers Gaza, has “had some, some problems” over decades. He claimed that moving back” had be transitory or long-term” ” Something has to happen”, Trump said.
” But as of right now, it’s a dismantling page.” Nearly all dismantled, and individuals are dying it”. He added:” But, I’d rather get involved with some of the Egyptian countries, and build accommodation in a different area, where they can probably live in peace for a change”.
Bezalel Smotrich, the finance minister of Israel, welcomed Trump’s visit as” an exceptional idea” and promised to work on a strategy to put it into action. He has repeatedly called for the transfer of Israeli settlers to Gaza. Jewish PM Netanyahu, in a statement Sunday, thanked Trump for “keeping your promise to give Israel the resources it needs to defend itself”. He did not mention Trump’s advice on Arab immigrants.
