Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus and a ally of Russia, extended his 31-year guideline on Monday after being declared the winner of a sham by opposition activists and American governments. Lukashenko, who faced no serious problem on the ballot, won 86.8 % of the voting.
The EU, the UK, Australia and New Zealand issued a joint declaration condemning” the sham votes in Belarus” and Lukashenko govt’s human rights violations. They said they were imposing organized restrictions on Lukashenko’s state. Six people and three defense companies were simultaneously subject to sanctions from Canada and the UK.
