Counseling center” seeks to deliberately affirm” every sexual preference, including with “queer affirming therapists.”
Catholic officials object to the University of Notre Dame’s coaching facility’s focus on promoting LGBT philosophy.
The counseling center” seeks to actively affirm and advocate for Two-Spirit, nonbinary, lesbian, gay, bisexual/bi+, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual/ace + ( 2SNLGBTQIA+ ) students by providing a safe and welcoming space” according to its website.
The center also offers an “LGBTQIA + therapy group”, “queer affirming therapists”, and help” with off-campus referrals for gender affirming care”. Nearly all of the team members on the list include their motherboard in their titles.
” Sex affirming maintenance” refers to medications and procedures that permanently alter a woman’s body to appear as the other sex, “affirming” their uncertainty over their real sex. These procedures might include removing good ovaries for boys and good breasts for girls.
For names are “intrinsically disordered” and not subject to any action, according to the Catholic Church’s tradition. However, the Catholic Church has constantly taught that one’s sex is eternal and criticized “gender philosophy”.
In the past month, Erin Blasko and Carrie Gates, the media representatives have received emails and calls expressing concern about the coaching university’s opposition to the Catholic Church and its promotion of LGBT ideology.
However, the Catholic Action League leader criticized Notre Dame’s support of LGBT philosophy, calling it “inconsistent with what remains of Notre Dame’s Catholic personality.”
” Confirming pupils in mortal sin — in this case, the mortal sin of contamination against nature, the second of four crimes which’ crieth to heaven for revenge,'” C. J. Doyle told The College Fix via internet.
A mortal crime is defined as one that destroys a person’s relationship with God, according to the Catholic Church. People who have not confessed to a pastor are typically assumed to go to hell if they have a mortal sin on their mind.
He called it “uncharitable, immoral, unpastoral, un-Christian, morally malfeasant” as well as “demonic”.
Doyle pointed toward Pope St. John Paul II’s Apostolic Constitution on Catholic institutions, Ex Corde Ecclesia, to critique Notre Dame. The Church’s “fidelity to the Christian information as it comes to us through the Church” is one of the criteria John Paul uses.
According to Doyle, school administrators have sold out Catholic instruction for jobs of social authority.
He claimed that the social class’s desire for power comes from wealthy elites, positive attention from the tradition media, and access to power. ” Administrative funding, extreme freedom and unlimited educational freedom are their highest beliefs”.
Doyle even advocated for the destitution of Catholic institutions like Notre Dame. He said,” The bishops can only declare that they are no longer Catholic, which would be like giving the name and the deed to the thieves.”
In an internet to its followers, the chairman of the Sycamore Trust, a former student organization dedicated to upholding the Catholic Church, even criticized the counseling facility.
” If you take a look at the materials available to Notre Dame students on the University Counseling Center (UCC ) website, you won’t find anything Catholic”, President Bill Dempsey wrote.
It provides a dramatic illustration of the anti-Catholic effects that are extremely present on the campus of Our Lady, he said.
Despite the Catholic Church’s emphasis on the holiness of human life, the Catholic school has recently permitted pro-abortion activities on campus. An “abortion doula” celebration on campus received criticism from nearby Bishop Kevin Rhoades, who called it “intellectually unserious“.
Additionally, as previously reported by The Fix, the school hosted a pull present on campus.
The university also posted a series of video appearing to embrace heterosexual relationships, as reported in 2022 by The Fix.
Vice President of Student Affairs Gerry Olinger, who is also a Catholic priest, told students to practice “inclusion” toward people no matter their” sexual orientation” or “gender identity”.
