Imran Khan and his family Bushra Bibi, both former prime ministers, were detained in Pakistan on Monday after a great court indictment of their faith in the Al-Qadir Trust case. ” Legal Team representing Imran Khan &, Bushra BiBi, challenges Al-Qadir Trust case decision at IHC”, the party said, adding that the National Accountability Bureau ( NAB) “maliciously misused its authority by announcing sentence, with incomplete investigation”.
Additionally, it stated that the high court had made the decision to overturn it and get the former first couple’s acquittal.
On January 17, Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the anti-corruption judge delivered the reserved conviction, convicting Khan and his family Bibi of corruption and issuing sentences of 14 and seven years, both, in jail.
The NAB, the best anti-corruption figure, in December 2023 had filed the circumstance against Khan, Bibi and six people, accusing them of causing damage to the rhythm of Rs 50 billion to the national friend.
However, only the former second couple has been prosecuted as all others, including a home billionaire, were out of the state.
The case was based on the allegation that the UK’s National Crime Agency had cheated up Rs 50 billion ( 190 million pound ) as part of a property tycoon’s settlement.
The money allegedly went to the national Treasury, but the entrepreneur who assisted Bibi and Khan in starting a college is said to have used it for personal gain.
Bibi, as a director of the Al-Qadir Trust, was accused of benefiting from this colony, including acquiring 458 hectares of land for Al-Qadir University in Jhelum.
