In line with a delicate peace agreement, Israel on Monday began allowing Palestinians to travel to the war-torn north Gaza Strip for the first time since the start of the 15-month fight with Hamas.
After the gates opened at 7am, dozens of displaced Palestinians began making their way north. Soon after the scheduled time, according to the Associated Press writers, people started crossing the Netzarim hall.
Hamas and Israel had a two-day delay in reopening the passage after the violent group claimed to have changed the hostage-freezing protocol to swap Arab prisoners.
An official from the Hamas-run inside department confirmed the transfer of displaced Palestinians.
The standard stated that” the passing of displaced Palestinians has begun along the Al-Rashid Road along the West of the Netzarim station in the direction of Gaza City and the northern portion of the Gaza Strip.”
The peace also guarantees the release of captives taken during the insurgents ‘ October 7, 2023 assault, which sparked the conflict by putting an end to the most bloody and dangerous conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Israel ordered a large departure of the north Gaza Strip in the early stages of the conflict and closed the area after ground troops moved in.
In the south of the country in October 2023, around one million people fled and were denied entry to profit, while hundreds of thousands persisted in the northeast, where there were some of the worst battle and death of the conflict.
