Vivek Ramaswamy fielded some tough questions from Charlamagne the God on the Breakfast Club show as Charlamagne said he did not believe Ramawamy’s explanation that his leaving the Department of Government Efficiency was a mutual decision of his and Elon Musk’s and that he has a good relationship with him. Ramaswamy has broken his silence after several reports claimed that he was edged out of the agency by Elon Musk after his rant against American culture rattled many Republicans.
” What happened with DOGE? Did you experience expulsion? Did you find fired”? Charlamagne asked.
It was a somewhat different perspective than the one from which we moved on to where we landed. And it’s not that it’s- individual’s right or wrong, but if you take a look at where we began, correctly? One of my main areas of focus throughout has been the legal and legitimate justification for shutting down the government, the federal government, and downsizing it. Expand is going to be an outdoor system to the authorities. That’s what our target, I’ve written my novels on, etc. “, Ramaswamy said. ” It evolved in more of a course of a technology job, using a technology-first method. And so Elon]Musk ] and I were on good terms, good personal relationship, slightly different approaches to the project. And what he and I both concluded — and I think this is right — is given my rely on laws, on regulations, the right way to know my eyesight is through elected office, so that’s what I’m gonna be pursuing”.
” So it was true. According to an exclusive report in The Washington Post, you were expelled because your vision “did not coincide with Elon’s”,” Charlamagne directly inquired.
” I would suggest that we arrived at it very socially. I mean, I think when it came that DOGE was in the government-, so there’s really a laws, it’s called the Hatch Act, boring stuff, but you absolutely can’t run for office while you are an employee of the government unless you’re the president or vice president”, Ramaswamy said explaining that he could not do Expand and Ohio governor race together.
” I’ve been working hard for a long time to go down the path of good running for governor of Ohio.” My initial thought might have been to do both of those at once. It felt like the right course of action was to begin the next chapter once it became obvious that it was impossible to accomplish at the same time, Ramaswamy said.
Do you believe that Trump’s defunding of the La activities caused you to be kicked out of DOGE? Charlamagne once asked.
” No, to the contrary, an you know, I may say just to be very clear about it— I have no problem with, you know, framing or whatever — it was really just an actual shared decision where you look at here was one vision on approach, here’s a unique vision on an approach. That’s great, there’s no right or wrong answer”, Ramaswamy said sidestepping the burning question.
” With a technology-driven approach and a technology-first approach, there’s no better person than Elon to run with that. With a focus on constitutional law and a focus on legislation, some of the areas I was interested in are probably best done in elected office. And so we all agreed on that, and I think that that’s actually a good thing where we’re able to, where we’re actually able to collaborate, divide and conquer”, he added.
Charlamagne claimed he did not believe him, and that he was not convinced. ” I hear you, Vivek. I don’t believe you”, the host said adding,” I think you either got pushed out, or you know that it’s going to implode. You must be aware that Elon will crash and burn, I believe. And you’re a smart guy, and you said,’ You know what? Let me leave Dodge and head to my governor of Ohio duties.
Ramaswamy laughed and claimed it wasn’t true, but that he and Musk and President Trump haven’t had any sex since leaving DOGE.
” We’re all on very good terms. And so I wouldn’t want to speak for anybody else, but I will say that they’re very supportive of of the decision that I made to pursue as my next step”, said Ramaswamy.
