I haven’t talked to Mike Lee in decades. He is one of my lawmakers, and I often fire off a statement to his business, but we haven’t had a one-on-one talk since my television time. Let’s be honest: no matter how many planes we fly to Colombia, the drug cartel south of the border have no intention of disappearing. Neither a joke nor a novel concept is a Lieu Lie. Why wouldn’t you consider differently, then?

Lee has suggested that the government should resume issuing marquee words. A notice of marque was a document sent by the government to mercenaries to treasure and plunder boats belonging to enemy nations, for those of you who are not familiar with pirate lore ( which is likely all ). The crew or, more likely, the masters got a slice of the take. Many mercenaries even engaged in theft, but Henry Morgan, one of the most well-known pirates ever, disliked the term and saw himself as a once-privateer and a devoted follower of the British crown.
The U. S. has used letters of carmaker in the past. During the American Revolution, Congress gave them to vendor boats to abuse and seize control of army vessels, and boy did they succeed.
In a series of articles on X, Lee noted that, believe it or not, Congress still has that strength under Article 1, Section 8 of the U. S. Constitution. He contends that even if we haven’t used it in a and, it might be time to get rid of it and use it to combat drug cartel. Given the cartels ‘ threats against the United States for sending criminals to their countries of origin, he sees the shift as a positive one.  ,

Lee explained:
The use of letters of marque could be a book but effective answer to distinct threats made by pharmaceutical organizations, particularly when they threaten to pin U.S. planes that bring illegal immigrants to their countries of origin.
Congress may concern letters of marque and reprisal allowing private security firms or specifically trained individuals to catch gang businesses, particularly those involving cross-border drug supplies or human trafficking.  ,
The main goal would be to disrupt the flow of people and medicines through the supply chains. Property like boats, metal, cash, and equipment may be seized. Clearly, the government would manage any medicines involved and the smuggled persons.  ,
Lee contends that issuing letters of marque would be less expensive and economically challenging for the taxpayer because the privateers had maneuver cartels more quickly and adapt their strategies to suit the needs of the government. He added that going to war with our southwestern relatives would be a desirable choice.  ,
He also made it clear that the threat posed by the organizations cannot be ignored despite the fact that the United States does not want to consider conflict. One officer on X raised a place: if a company or group has a letter of roadster, what would prevent them from harassing or stealing from private individuals, innocent spectators, or the patients themselves? Some evaluating approach may be required, and since Trump created the Space Force, perhaps he could make the U. S. Department of Privateering. That’s a tough one since, usually, issuing words of roadster is a task for Congress. But then again, who wants The Squad raising a rogue troops?
