Israeli Prime Minister , Benjamin Netanyahu , is planning to visit , Washington , next week to join with President , Donald Trump, according to people familiar with the matter, as the leaders look to keep the peace in , Gaza.
The people who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the ideas said the conference is still unfinished and may not appear together in that time frame. Just weeks before the ending of the first stage of the pause in fighting, the first sit-down may occur at a crucial moment. Skeptics have questioned whether the agreement will continue to be in place through its next stage, which had finally put an end to the conflict in Gaza.
Steve Witkoff, Trump ‘s , Middle East , minister, is expected to travel to , Israel , this week to explore the possibility of securing a longer-term solution to the conflict, according to Jewish broadcast.
More than 30 victims held by , Hamas , are slated to become returned to , Israel , during the six-week peace, in exchange for lots of Arab captives. More humanitarian assistance is entering , Gaza , during the bend, with around 600 tractors per day delivering supplies.
Trump last trip floated the idea of relocating Palestinian refugees to surrounding Arab states, for as , Egypt , and , Jordan, with little of , Gaza , devastated by weather hits. Both countries, which have stated that Palestinians may be allowed to return to their homes, soon rejected the idea.
Trump has indicated he’s willing to give wider longitude for , Israel , to carry out military attacks in the region compared to previous President , Joe Biden. The president regularly warned , Hamas , prior to the latest peace deal there would be “hell to pay” if Jewish victims weren’t released before his opening.
Netanyahu and Trump had a near relation during the , U. S.  , government’s first name. Trump was critical of Israel’s military strategy against , Hamas , during the 2024 presidential battle but the two have exchanged pleasant comments since Trump won a second word, and Netanyahu’s family visited Trump’s Mar-a-Lago team for dinner.
