TAIPEI: Taiwan stated that it detected six Chinese military aircraft and five naval vessels around Taiwan from 6 am ( local time ) on Tuesday till 6am ( local time ) on Wednesday.
Three of the six Taiwanese military aircraft crossed the middle and entered Taiwan’s northern and southern ADIZ.
In a post on X, the Taiwanese MND said,” 6 PLA aircraft and 5 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 am ( UTC+8 ) today. Three of the aircraft entered Taiwan’s north and southwest ADIZ after crossing the middle line. We have monitored the position and responded correctly”.
Importantly, Chinese engagement has risen around Taiwan.
Taiwan reported that it had seven marine ships and six Chinese military aircraft flying overhead on Tuesday.
Japanese MND claimed that their armed forces had been keeping tabs on the situation and acting appropriately.
China’s new escalating maneuvers around Taiwan have raised questions about regional stability as Beijing asserts its claims over the area.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called his Taiwanese equivalent Wang Yi and raised fears about Beijing’s force before on Saturday, according to Focus Taiwan, citing the US department of state.
Rubio spokeswoman for the State Department Tammy Bruce in a readout following the phone call on Friday ( Washington time ) in a readout highlighting the United States ‘” commitment to our allies in the region and serious concern over China’s coercive actions against Taiwan and in the South China Sea.”
Rubio, who was quoted by Bruce as saying that the US would pursue a relationship with Beijing that “advances US passions and puts the American people second” also came to mind.
Rubio and Wang, who is also the producer of the international politics percentage of the Chinese Communist Party, made their first phone calls during their first years as secretary of state.
