In response to the memo allowing federal grant funding, the administration of President Donald Trump sought to ease confusion over Medicaid money.
Democratic lawmakers earlier previously complained that their condition Medicaid portals were removed despite the White House’s assurance that strong payments to people wouldn’t be affected.

Leavitt asserted during the Tuesday press briefing that the financing freeze was intended to give the Trump administration more time to evaluate and remove waste rather than to change payments to people.
” This is not a cover pause on federal support and grant programs from the Trump supervision”, Leavitt said.
She later said,” I want to make that very clear to any Americans who are watching at home, who may be a little perplexed by some of the media reporting this administration.” You will still be able to get personal assistance from the federal government, but this leader and the administration must take good care of taxpayer dollars.
Some Republicans defended the Trump administration’s deeds in conversations with investigators.
” This shouldn’t surprise anyone this administration wants to take a look at spending”, said Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY ). ” They’ve clarified now at the press event in the White House and Sen. John Thune did, as well as at the manhunt, that it doesn’t use to people. It doesn’t apply to Social Security, Medicare, SNAP courses, all of those things they want to look at basic spending”.
Barrasso added that some claims “may have been misled” and that position Medicaid forums should not have been removed.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD ) also reaffirmed the idea that some government-funded programs that directly benefit people won’t experience a freeze.
” They have taken some items off the board, some of you have particularly asked about plans, plans that directly affect an individual, Medicaid, SNAP, those types of programs are unimpacted by this”, Thune said.

However, some Democratic lawmakers were disappointed.
” The White House says, or tried to claim, that Medicaid isn’t impacted”, Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) said. Let’s be clear, Medicaid offices all over the country are currently being told that they are prohibited from using the crucial Medicaid computer world, which enables them to bring down money. They are locked out of these national insurance devices, which, in discipline, means that federal money can be posted or rejected”.
