A fresh executive order was signed by President Donald Trump on Wednesday to combat racism in the country. Following the Hamas terrorist strikes on October 7, 2023, a cold rise in anti-Semitic occurrences has occurred, and the Biden administration has ignored any responses.

Trump stated in the order that “my management has fought and may continue to fight anti-Semitism in the United States and around the world,” making it clear that this problem will continue to be top of the list. His earlier work, including Executive Order 13899, which sought to shield Jewish students from harassment in schools and universities, are echoed by this statement. Nevertheless, the Biden administration’s negligence essentially nullified these safeguards, leading to an alarming scenario where Israeli students have been extremely vulnerable.  ,
In the final three months of 2023, there was a remarkable increase in racist incidents, with incidents rising by 321 %, particularly on college campuses, according to the Anti-Defamation League. In response to the rise in racism, the Biden administration launched an initiative to overcome islamophobia.
In his executive order, Trump pointed out that the October 7 terrorist assaults “unleashed an unprecedented wave of horrible anti-Semitic discrimination, theft, and murder against our citizens”, specifically targeting Israeli students on campuses—places that should be bastions of understanding and security. ” Israeli students have faced an unending barrage of discrimination, denial of access to school common places and features… and intimidation, harassment, and physical risks and abuse”. It’s a disconcerting real that the federal government has ignored for too long.

Federal agencies are required to review on and suggest additional measures to combat college anti-Semitism in the new executive order, which includes precise instructions. Department heads must send thorough information on the state’s existing civil and criminal regulators within 60 days to combat these rising waves of hate.  ,

According to the order, each executive department agency must submit a report that includes an inventory and analysis of all pending administrative complaints against or involving institutions of higher education alleging civil-rights violations related to or arising from post-October 7, 2023, campus anti-Semitism. It also mandates that each executive department agency make a report.

This executive order provides a desperately needed counterweight to antisemitism that was absent under Biden.
