Laken Riley Act mandates confinement of non-citizens arrested for robbery, burglary
In honor of a murdered Georgia medical student, President Donald Trump signed a law on Wednesday to restrict improper emigration.
According to the Laken Riley Act,” the Department of Homeland Security ( DHS) must prosecute certain non-U. S. citizens ( creatures under federal laws ) who have been arrested for burglary, theft, burglary, or shoplifting”, the law state.
The act also grants states the right to bring legal action against the federal government for reported errors in immigration police, it reads.
The action received bipartisan support, “marking a big shift for Liberals, who did not advance the policy in the Senate next time”, NPR reported.
At the act filing, Trump recognized Riley as” a brilliant and beautiful 22-year-old medical student from Georgia” who was” the best in her group”.
” While on a run, Laken was attacked, violently assaulted, beaten, mistreated, and murdered by an improper alien who was set free into our land by the last management”, Trump said.
Additionally, he claimed that Jose Ibarra, who was a part of a Venezuelan prison group, trespassed across the southern boundary in 2022.
He was “apprehended by border patrol, but under the cruel laws of the last management, instead of being deported as he should had been, he was released into the United States”, Trump said.
Before attacking Riley, Ibarra had been detained in New York City for child destruction and afterwards in Georgia for stealing from a Walmart, according to the New York Post.  ,
Trump said,” We’re tracking down the illegal alien offenders, we’re detaining them, and we’re throwing the hell out of our land.” ” We have no sympathies, and we’re moving forward quite hard”.
” It’s a landmark rules that we are doing now, it will save many innocent British lives”, the leader said.
Riley’s sister and parents were present at the White House drafting. Her family, Allyson Phillips, gave a brief statement expressing gratitude to politicians and the senator for ensuring the act named in her mother’s pride was passed.
” What we are hoping for is that her career saves life”, Phillips said.
Riley was a medical scholar at Augusta University. According to a report from The College Fix, she was murdered in February 2024 while running at the University of Georgia.
Trump also stated that he would “instruct the Pentagon and the Department of Homeland Security in preparation for a 30, 000-person immigrant service at the Guantánamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba,” according to The Washington Post.
According to NBC News, the president said,” Some of them are so bad that we don’t also believe the countries to keep them because we don’t like them coming back.” ” So we’re going to take them out to Guantanamo”.
