President Donald Trump made it known that he intends to mark an executive order instructing the Defense and Homeland Security to start building a 30, 000-bed expatriate detention center at Guantanamo Bay.
” Today, I’m even signing an executive order to direct the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security to start preparing the migrant hospital at Guantanamo Bay, which has a capacity of 30, 000. Most people don’t even know about it”, Trump said.
Trump remarked,” We have 30, 000 rooms in Guantanamo to deten the worst crime illegal aliens threatening the American people.” ” Some of them are so bad, we don’t even trust]their home ] countries to hold them because we don’t want them coming back. So we’re going to give them out to Guantanamo”.
The professional motion, Trump said, may send the United States “one move closer to eradicating the blight of immigrant violence in our neighborhoods, once and for all”.
Immigrant right organizations and Democratic politicians are expected to criticize the decision.
While originally popular, public protest against Guantanamo grew throughout the Bush administration, and his son, President Barack Obama, pledged in 2009 to shut the hospital within one year. But, criticism from Congress prevented Guantanamo’s closing.
