DUBAI: Dubai International Airport, the country’s busiest for foreign travel, saw a report 92.3 million people go through its stations in 2024, officials announced Thursday.
The effect cements Dubai’s bounce back from the coronavirus crisis, surpassing the previous record set in 2018 for the first time. As authorities plan to relocate operations to the city-state’s second aircraft in ten years after a practically$ 35 billion switch, the aircraft feels like it is bursting at the seams with aircraft movements and crowds moving through its cramped terminals today.
Dubai’s king, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced the figure on the social media platform X. The state-owned aircraft is home to the long-haul ship Dubai, which powers the system of state-owned and state-linked firms known as” Dubai Inc”.
” Dubai is the airports of the world… and a new world in the aviation business”, Sheikh Mohammed wrote.
In 2023, the aircraft, known as DXB, had 86.9 million people. Its 2019 visitors was 86.3 million customers. It had 89.1 million people in 2018 its past busiest, always year before the epidemic, while 66 million people passed through in 2022.
A real-estate increase and the state’s highest-ever hospitality numbers have made Dubai a location as well as a stay. However, the city is currently dealing with rising prices and increased traffic, which are putting pressure on both its Emirati people and the foreigners who run its business.
In 10 years, Dubai plans to move its airport operations to Al Maktoum International Airport, some 45 kilometers ( 28 miles ) away from DXB. The aircraft, which opened in 2010 with one switch and is known as DWC, served as a parking lot for Emirates ‘ double-decker Airbus A380s and another plane during the pandemic. However, it has gradually come back to life with goods and personal planes since then. It also hosts the annual Dubai Air Show and has an expansive, desert oasis where it can increase.
DXB and DWC serve 106 carriers flying to 272 places in 107 locations across the world.
