A couple of months previously, Saturday Night Live aired a brilliant sketch in which” Donald Trump” tells” Joe Biden” that he didn’t return to Mar-a-Lago because Elon Musk is always there. While meant as funny, there may be some truth to the description. According to officials, Trump has grown increasingly hostile toward Musk’s omnipotence at Mar-a-Lago. But, Trump does had found a smart way to get rid of him—by sending him to place.
Lately, Trump posted on social media:” I have only asked Elon Musk and @SpaceX to ‘ get get’ the two valiant astronauts who have been almost abandoned in space by the Biden Administration. They have been waiting on the Space Station for a while. Immediately, Elon may be arriving. Ideally, all will be safe. Good fortune, Elon!! “!
While most saw this as yet another effort to condemn the Biden administration, some speculate whether this was even a simple way to push Musk out of Mar-a-Lago and, possibly, off the world immediately.
Less Open to Trump?
Elon Musk first entered Trump’s internal group as the illegal “tech bro-in-chief”, a billionaire revolutionary with ambitions stretching from image tradition to space colonization. But, Musk’s direct exposure to Trump may now be facing obstacles, presumably due to Trump’s chief of staff, Susie Wiles.
Another report immediately disproved the say, crediting Wiles for restricting Musk’s exposure after reports emerged that claimed he was receiving a West Wing business and a state email account. Apparently, Wilson, who is known for her rigorous approach, made it clear that anyone who can’t be” creative and focused on shared targets” has no place in the West Wing. She also made sure that Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ), as well as other organizations, would report directly to her without limiting her access to Trump.
Musk reacted to these studies with laughing emojis on social media, dismissing the debate. However, some believe this restriction of access may be connected to Musk’s growing political control and his subsequent condemnation of Trump’s AI task, Stargate.
President Musk?
Musk’s involvement in politics has sparked a larger debate: Is he becoming an unelected power broker? Some even refer to him as the” George Soros of the Right.” Musk’s growing influence spans from tech innovation to social media control, and now, deep political involvement. His financial contributions, including a reported$ 277 million donation to Trump’s reelection campaign, have made him a key player in conservative circles.
During a recent funding battle, GOP lawmakers openly praised Musk, with Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas ) referring to him as “our prime minister”. Musk’s influence is undeniable, but critics worry that his unchecked influence could transform government dynamics without traditional oversight. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt ) mocked Musk’s role, saying,” Will Republicans kiss the ring”? while Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass ) went further, claiming,” At least we know who’s in charge—he’s president, and Trump is now vice president”.
Trump himself dismissed any possibility of Musk holding office, saying with a chuckle,” He’s not going to be president. That I can tell you. And I’m safe. You know why? He can’t be. He wasn’t born in this country”.
Musk vs. Stargate
Adding to the tension is Musk’s criticism of Trump’s ambitious AI project, Stargate. This$ 500 billion AI initiative, involving OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank, has faced skepticism from Musk, who questioned whether the involved companies had the financial resources to fund such a massive project. Musk’s skepticism may be related to his ongoing feud with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and his lawsuit against OpenAI over its alleged transition from nonprofit to private interests.
Trump, however, downplayed Musk’s criticism, suggesting that Musk’s doubts stem from personal grudges. ” No, he hates one of the people”, Trump said, referring to Musk’s dislike for Altman. Despite Musk’s financial concerns, the White House has stood by the project, asserting that private investors are backing it without government funding.
Musk’s Global Political Moves
Beyond the United States, Musk’s political influence continues to expand. He reportedly has a$ 127 million donation to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party in mind, making it the largest political donation in British history. In Germany, Musk controversially declared that “only the AfD can save Germany”, endorsing the far-right Alternative for Germany party, which has been classified as an extremist group by German intelligence.
Without accountability for democratic decisions, billionaires may be shaping political landscapes in various nations. While Musk presents himself as a “centrist counterweight” to Soros, his growing role in conservative politics continues to generate intense debate.
