On Jan. 30, Microsoft showed off the latest Surface for Business Copilot + PCs, Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11. Both will be on store shelves Feb. 18. Only a moment before, the company announced all clients of the Microsoft Copilot AI associate will be able to switch on OpenAI’s o1 unit for slower, more” thoughtful” actions.
Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7 coming soon!
Both fresh PCs run on Intel’s Series 2 Core Ultra computers. Additionally, both include AI benefits like returning research queries on pictures and the natural language Windows Search.
Surface Laptop 7 for Company
Surface Laptop for Business comes in two styles: 13.8 cm or 15 feet. Microsoft claims that the laptop’s power living can reach 22 hours, and that its multi-tasking performance is 26 % faster than the Surface Laptop 5’s. It retails starting at$ 1, 499.99.
Later this year, the Surface Laptop for Business may have 5G connectivity for the first time in the appropriate regions. One of our best buyer requests was “one of our best buyer requests,” according to Microsoft Surface General Manager Nancie Gaskill in a blog article.
Microsoft claimed that the Surface Laptop 7 supports the company’s sustainability goals, using only recycled rare earth metals in the batteries and recycled cobalt in the battery cells.
Surface Pro 11 for Business
The Surface Pro 11 tablet packs more power and versatility into a smaller, more adaptable package than the laptop version. It has a 13-inch touch screen that can be used with a stylus or a pen.
It retails starting at$ 1, 499.99. It pairs with the Surface Pro Flex Keyboard.
Both new Surfaces include protection in line with Microsoft’s commitment to the Secure Future Initiative.

According to Gaskill, Microsoft is betting on businesses that they can “access and unlock value through both the cloud and endpoints” using AI.
Other announcements from Microsoft made at the same time as the Surface refreshes include:
- A new$ 199.99 Surface USB4 Dock with two USB-C, one USB-A, Ethernet, and HDMI ports, and 4K support.
- Support for Microsoft Teams Rooms on the Surface Hub 3 smart board comes from Miracast and Microsoft Edge.
- Security Copilot will be featured in a public preview of the Surface Management Portal starting on February 24.
OpenAI o1 now available in Copilot features
On Jan. 29, Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman announced users of Microsoft Copilot can now switch the generative AI into Think Deeper mode, which taps into OpenAI’s o1 “reasoning” model. Microsoft has embraced generative AI enthusiastically, starting with its close ties to OpenAI and adding the edgy new Chinese model DeepSeek R1 to the Azure AI Foundry.
