Fire and EMS Chief John Donnelly, adding that,” We don’t believe there are any survivors.” The search efforts continue in the Potomac River after an American Airlines plane with 60 passengers and four crew members collided in midair with an Army Black Hawk helicopter carrying three soldiers near Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C.
According to Duffy, an investigation into the tragedy has already begun and that there are “early indications of what happened here,” according to CBS.
According to The Post, American Airlines CEO Robert Isom said “at this time, we don’t know why the military aircraft came into the path of the PSA aircraft.” He appeared to have suggested that the helicopter was to blame for the collision.
