Following a passenger aircraft with 64 passengers collided with a military aircraft carrying four, it crashed into Washington DC’s Potomac River on Wednesday night, a list of major US plane crashes has been released in recent years.
- February 12, 2009: a Colgan Air Bombardier plane flying from New York to the little village of Buffalo accidents, killing the 49 people onboard.
- A US Airways Airbus A320 carrying more than 150 persons collides with a flock of birds on January 15, 2009, in New York, thanks to the plane’s bravery.
- August 27, 2006: a local travel aircraft uses a wrong, empty airport, rather than the designated a and crashes shortly after taking off from Lexington aircraft, Kentucky, killing around 50 people onboard.
- December 19, 2005: a Grumman G-73T Mallard hydroplane operated by Ocean Airways, connecting Miami and an area in the Bahamas, collapses into the water immediately after flight, killing both team users and 18 people.
- October 19, 2004: a Darling Jetstream 32 operated by AmericanConnection accidents near Kirksville, Missouri due to poor visibility. Both planes and 11 out of the 13 people are killed.
- January 8, 2003: a US Airways Beechcraft 1900, flying between Charlotte, North Carolina and Greenville, South Carolina, collapses into a airport soon after takeoff. Both the 19 people onboard and the aircraft are killed.
- November 12, 2001: two weeks after the September 11 problems, an American Airlines Airbus A-300, flying from New York to Saint-Domingue, accidents shortly after taking off from JFK airports. The 251 people and nine staff people are killed. On the ground, many homes are destroyed or damaged, and five people killed.
- An Air Florida Boeing 737-222 crashes into the valley just after launch during a storm on January 13, 1982, hitting a viaduct over the Potomac. Four gate crossing drivers were among the 78 people killed in the accident.
