After 67 people are believed to be dead following the incident of a local flight and a Black Hawk Army aircraft near a busy airport outside of Washington, President Barack Obama”>Donald Trump attributed the policies of past presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden to the hiring practices in aerospace and diversity.
Trump said he was “heartbroken” and that the affair in the White House press briefing room album was” an afternoon of pain” before criticizing diversity, equity, and inclusion methods in particular for the event ahead of an official research. He then read prepared remarks and urged a moment of silence to indicate the horror that emerged in midair.
” A real tragedy”, Trump told reporters on Thursday less than 24 hours after the accident. ” This was a dark and excruciating night in our nation’s capital, and in our nation’s history, and a tragedy of terrible proportions”.
Trump vowed to “weaken away the tears and to offer you our devotion, our love, and our support” for the victims ‘ families, while acknowledging that the nation is” searching for answers.” He also pledged to share some “very strong opinions and ideas” about what went wrong.
Trump remarked,” You must work in our aviation system with the highest standards.” ” I put safety first. Obama, Biden, and the Democrats put the policy first, and they put politics at a level that nobody’s ever seen because this was the lowest level. Their policy was horrible, and their politics was even worse”.
When pressed for proof that diversity was specifically responsible, Trump repeatedly pointed to” common sense”, contending that “it just could have been” and previewing future firings.
” You have to go by brain power”, he said. ” You have to go by psychological quality. These are very strong tests that we used, and Biden put an end to them.
Trump then attacked Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg with an expletive, rejecting claims that he was doing so before all the victims had been found and their names had been made public.
” A real winner”, the president said. ” Do you know how badly everything has run since he’s run the Department of Transportation? He’s a disaster. He’s just got a good line of bulls ***”.
In response, Buttigieg described Trump’s scrutiny “despicable” as “families grieve”, asserting” Trump should be leading not lying”.
Trump also made an appearance to blame the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport pilot and the air traffic controllers.
” We don’t know that necessarily it’s even the controller’s fault”, the president said. ” They ought to have seen where they were going,” the passengers in the helicopter said. I can’t imagine people with 20/20 vision not seeing, you know, what’s happening up there”.
He added,” I have helicopters. You can stop a helicopter very quickly. It was able to go up or down. It was able to turn. And the turn it made was not the correct turn, obviously”.
Trump also confirmed during the briefing that Christopher Rocheleau would serve as the acting FAA administrator, and he remained unwavering about the safety of the aircraft.
” I do not hesitate to fly”, he said. ” It’s been many years since something like this has happened. We fly anywhere in the world with the highest level of safety, and we’ll continue to do so.
The president informed the public that he had been “fully briefed” and thanked the first responders for their “incredible work,” in an official statement released on Wednesday night from the White House.

Trump later updated his account on his social media platform, Truth Social, where he speculated that it could have been “prevented” following Situation Room briefings along the likes of national security adviser Mike Walz.

It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn. Why didn’t the control tower request that the helicopter be seen instead of asking if it had been seen? This is a bad situation that appears to have been avoided. NOT GOOD!! “!
