After the Trump administration refused to let her leave, Phyllis Fong, inspector general of the USDA, was actually removed from her business by security personnel. Fong, who had been in her place for 22 years, had informed her coworkers that she planned to continue working there after receiving a firing see the day before.
According to options who spoke with Reuters, Fong questioned the constitutionality of her dismissal. She cited the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency’s claim in a Saturday message to her team that Reuters reviewed that the dismissal finds were unlawful.
When asked for reply, Fong declined to respond. The White House defended its decision to remove her and different investigators public, calling them “rogue, political officials” and saying they were being replaced by “qualified people who will uphold the rule of law and guard democracy.”
