The fatal midair collision between American Airlines Flight 5342 and the defense Black Hawk Sikorsky H-60 is the subject of President Donald Trump‘s press briefing outside Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
At 11 a.m., White House lecture is scheduled to begin. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy are also expected to attend.
The collision happened just before 9 p. m. Wednesday evening, as the American Airlines flight from Wichita, Kansas, was on view to get at Reagan aircraft.

On the defense aircraft, there were three people, four members of the crew, and 60 passengers on the American Airlines flight. On Thursday morning, authorities said they didn’t think there would be any survivors.
